Write Captions for Useful Replies and Shares
Is lesson ke baad tum
Choose a useful response goal, write a relevant action and judge the response with a defined metric and honest limits.
In this lesson
Give the reader useful context and one clear action. You will write two captions with different purposes, then compare a small set of response records without promising engagement.
Use the Same Facts for Both Versions
A fictional Lahore bakery is making an order-confirmation checklist. Its sample policy records four fields in one written summary: flavour, size, pickup or delivery window, and payment status.
Practice phrases, invented for this lesson: “slot confirm hai?” and “delivery kis time hogi?” They are not real customer quotations or evidence that everyone uses those words. Available slots, prices and delivery guarantees are unknown.
Worked Example
Weak draft: “Slots are disappearing. Tag three friends and comment YES!” It invents scarcity and gives no order-confirmation help.
A reply-focused caption can say:
Before confirming a cake order, put flavour, size, pickup or delivery window, and payment status in one written summary. Which detail is harder to confirm: the window or payment status?
A forwarding-focused version can say:
Confirming an event order? Keep these four details together: flavour, size, pickup or delivery window, and payment status. Send the checklist to the person coordinating the order.
The first asks for a relevant choice. The second gives a reason to forward useful information. They are different objectives, not just different synonyms.
Our exercise avoids forced tags and empty keyword requests. This is an editorial choice: YouTube allows ordinary requests to comment or share while prohibiting artificial engagement. Do not describe every comment request as a platform violation.
Hands-On Exercise
Write your own reply and forwarding versions from the same four-field policy. Give each an accurate first line, useful context and one action. Add a supplied practice phrase only if it fits naturally. Neither caption may invent stock, guarantees or customer consensus.
Now review these constructed records, observed after the same 24-hour window on one account:
| Caption | Accounts reached | Relevant replies | Other replies |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | 100 | 3 | 1 |
| B | 400 | 8 | 12 |
For this exercise, calculate relevant replies divided by accounts reached, multiplied by 100. Compare raw counts with the rates. The posts were not randomised; audience composition and other differences are unknown.
Then four of B's eight relevant replies are reclassified as off-topic. Recalculate B and revise the note.
Completion Rubric
A has a 3% relevant-reply rate; B initially has 2%. B has more relevant replies in total, while A has the higher rate under this definition. Neither result proves the caption caused the difference.
After correction, B has four relevant replies and a 1% rate. Keep the original denominator of 400 and log the classification change. Do not count off-topic replies as useful answers merely because they increase engagement totals.
Your two captions should preserve all four checklist fields while pursuing different actions. A future test can hold topic, format and observation window as similar as possible, then inspect the actual replies. Posting the variants is optional follow-on work.
