Pitching Brands Once You Have Traction

Lesson 23 of 24

Is lesson ke baad tum

Pitch a specific idea with comparable evidence, then keep deliverables, revisions, rights, payment and disclosure explicit.

In this lesson

A useful pitch connects a real audience question to a bounded idea. You will write one practice pitch from supplied evidence and identify which terms must change when the brand asks for more rights.

Use This Fictional Evidence Pack

Everything below is invented for practice; it must not be presented as your real creator history.

IDSupplied fact
E1Three comparable styling posts observed after seven days each: 200, 240 and 800 views
E2Three generalised questions asked how to style one shirt in different ways; no buying intent recorded
E3Work sample: an owned three-outfit demonstration, labelled classroom sample
B1Sample Brand product sheet: plain cotton shirt in navy or white; no wrinkle-free claim
S1Proposed scope: one 30-second vertical video, caption, one consolidated revision; draft five business days after item and approved brief arrive
S2Sample fee PKR 12,000; 50% before production, 50% after final approval; payment method and invoice details to agree before starting
S3Proposed brand use: organic repost on its Instagram page for six weeks; no paid ads, raw files or exclusivity included

These are proposed terms, not an accepted contract or a market rate. No real recipient or contact details are supplied.

Worked Example

“My typical post gets 800 views and your wrinkle-free shirt will go viral” fails twice: 800 is the high observation, while wrinkle-free and virality are unsupported. The median of 200, 240, 800 is 240; even that is only a three-post sample.

A grounded opening and concept:

Your sample product sheet lists a plain cotton shirt in navy or white. I propose showing three styling combinations with one shirt, responding to the three example styling questions in E2. My classroom work sample demonstrates that format; the three supplied posts have a median of 240 views after seven days. These examples do not predict campaign results.

In a real pitch, replace classroom records with your own dated analytics and authorised work. Keep the observation window and sample size beside the number.

Hands-On Exercise

Draft one email of about 120–180 words for Sample Brand. Include the grounded concept, evidence limits, S1 deliverables/timing, S2 fee/payment proposal, S3 usage boundary, clear sponsorship disclosure and one next step. Use a work-sample placeholder clearly marked for replacement; do not invent a live URL or recipient.

Then the brand asks for six months of paid-ad use and unlimited revisions at the same fee. Identify the two scope changes and write a short response that requests revised written terms rather than silently accepting them.

Finally, E1's 800-view post is found to have been observed after 30 days, not seven. Decide whether it remains in the seven-day comparison.

Completion Rubric

The pitch should propose one video and caption, one revision and a conditional draft deadline. The sample instalments are PKR 6,000 and PKR 6,000; do not present these invented terms as agreed or universally appropriate.

Paid-ad use for six months exceeds the organic six-week permission; unlimited revisions exceed the one-round scope. Revisit the rights, workload, fee and schedule in writing before production. “Exposure” does not establish payment.

Remove the mismatched 800-view observation from the seven-day comparison. The remaining two figures are 200 and 240, with a median of 220; describe the reduced sample rather than silently retaining 240 as its median.

Disclosure is part of the brief. On YouTube, branded content must be declared in video details using its paid-promotion control; follow the destination platform's current disclosure process as well as applicable requirements. The exercise ends with a draft, not a sent pitch or secured deal.
